The Kangaroo Inn is a late 18th century coaching inn situated at the gateway to the Clun Valley an area of outstanding natural beauty made famous by A.E. Housman - "Clunton and Clunbury, Clungunford and Clun, are the quietest places under the sun" - a local jingle appearing in A Shropshire Lad.

The Kangaroo has been licenced continuously since 1831 and possibly was a thriving country hostelry at the time of the Marston-Carter marriage (see Aston on Clun) in 1786.

Since 1999 The Kangaroo has been in the capable hands of Michelle Harding and her mom Dorita Harding who take pride in running a traditional English pub.
